Healthcare: strengthing the most vulnerable
*
One quarter of the world’s population - one billion people - have no access to proper healthcare. Preventable or treatable infectious diseases cause half of all deaths in the poor countries. Without good health, children cannot learn properly and adults cannot work to ensure their families are properly provided for. Islamic Aid’s health projects focus on mothers and children, who often are the most vulnerable to disease and malnutrition. Our initiatives are aimed at increasing the capacity of our local partners to deliver quality health services by improving healthcare facilities, training local health professionals and providing medicines, medical equipment and other support.
